Important Information
A 50:1 concentration ratio means that 50 units of fresh herb are concentrated into 1 unit of extract. so 120mg of 50:1 Ginkgo extract is the equivalent of 6,000mg fresh Ginkgo.
As well as the concentration ratio, one thing to check when comparing extracts is the active compound content. Our extract is standardised to contain a minimum of 24% Ginkgo Flavonoids and a minimum of 6% Terpene Lactones (Ginkgolides).
One of the compounds you don’t want in your extract is Ginkgolic Acid, which is toxic. Our extract is standardised to contain no more than 5 parts per million.
Be aware of Ginkgo tea. There are such tiny amounts of beneficial compounds extracted from the leaves and there is no way of telling how much Ginkgolic Acid is in it. At best, it will have no benefit and at worst, it could be very toxic.
