100% Pure L-Citrulline Powder

L-Citrulline is used to increase nitric oxide levels in the blood which relaxes hardened artery walls and, in addition to lowering blood pressure, increases blood flow throughout the whole body.

L-Citrulline is a non-essential amino acid, and is broken down into L-Arginine and nitric oxide by the kidneys.

L-Arginine is sometimes used as a similar supplement, however L-Citrulline is more bioavailable, easier on the digestive system, more effective and has a longer-lasting effect.

*Note – L-Citrulline is different than Citrulline Malate, which is L-Citrulline combined with malic acid.

Directions

Take 5-12g of L-Citrulline daily (1-2 scoops) with or without food. One flat measure of the scoop included is approximately 5g. It can be mixed with water, juice, squash or anything else you prefer.

Note that it may take 2-4 weeks for the full benefits of L-Citrulline to become apparent, although nitric oxide production leading to increased blood flow should be noticeable within hours.

Ingredients

  • 100% L-Citrulline Powder (sourced from non-GMO corn)

Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Caution

  • May lower blood pressure. Care is advised when taking with blood pressure medication.

Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking any medication or under medical supervision, please consult a doctor before use. Discontinue use and consult a doctor if adverse reactions occur.

Recommended for adults.

Information

L-Arginine is sometimes taken for similar health benefits, but Arginine has had mixed results and in one study even appeared to be dangerous for some men with advanced heart disease. A further disadvantage of ingesting L-Arginine directly is that it is metabolized in the liver by arginase – in men with heart disease, arginase is “upregulated” or more active – meaning that more Arginine is converted to the amino acid ornithine, which can potentially lead to herpes outbreaks and other issues.

L-Citrulline, on the other hand, seems to produce equal or better results, plus it completely bypasses the liver and the whole arginase conversion process. It is possible to supplement L-Citrulline by eating watermelon daily but you would need to eat a LOT of watermelon, including the rind!

Our L-Citrulline powder sits high in the ranks of our best sellers. Unlike Arginine, L-Citrulline does not cause diarrhoea and produces a long-lasting effect rather than the “spike” produced by Arginine.
