Soothe is a warming, spiced herbal infusion designed to bring relief to sore throats. While its perfect for cold weather and seasonal sniffles, it is delicious all year round.

Four out of the five ingredients – liquorice, cinnamon, echinacea and ginger – have antibiotic properties (if you sweeten with honey, include that too!), which means while it’s soothing your sore throat, it’s also helping you to fight off the invading harmful bacteria.

Soothe is available loose and in bags. The bags are made from paper with a natural alternative to glue, they are non-GMO, biodegradable and home-compostable and made in Scotland.

What’s In It?

• Ginger supports the immune system and helps reduce body temperature in fevers.
• Cinnamon has antiviral properties and is a warming stimulant.
• Echinacea is widely used as an immune stimulant to combat bacterial and viral infections.
• Marshmallow root helps to relieve dry coughs and has mucilaginous properties, which soothe inflamed and irritated mucous membranes.
• Liquorice root has anti-inflammatory properties and soothes irritation.

Instructions

To make an infusion, steep 1-2 teaspoons of loose tisane (or a tea bag) in boiling water for 5-15 minutes, then strain and sip. Drink up to 3 cups a day. Cover while infusing.

To make a decoction, simmer 1-2 teaspoons of loose tisane per cup in gently boiling water using a saucepan (with a lid) for 20 minutes. Strain and drink up to three cups a day.

Cautions

• Excessive, regular consumption of liquorice root can contribute to increased blood pressure.

The pouches are made from full recyclable PE. They are heat sealed and resealable. The labels are paper. There is no need to separate the labels and pouches for recycling.
